Solutions to take things further
Throughout the life cycle of assets, the Engineering department offers bespoke analysis and optimisation solutions designed to improve the performance of their facilities.
The activities are divided into four main areas: data management and analysis, the development of monitoring tools, the conduct of technical audits, and research and development (R&D).
Around ten engineers are working on optimising repatriation tools and analysing data.
Three experts are working on the development and installation of monitoring tools, whilst two engineers coordinate the technical audit activities, with the work being carried out by around twenty experts based at our maintenance centres across mainland France.

Installation of a LIDAR system at a wind farm
Ten nacelle alignment measurement campaigns were carried out at the Ablaincourt wind farm, which comprises 10 NORDEX N131 wind turbines, each with a capacity of 3.6 MW, located in the Somme region of France. These campaigns made it possible to verify the alignment of the wind turbines with the wind direction and to optimise total power generation by 2.3%.
Solar farm monitoring
A monitoring tool has been developed to monitor the Mézos and Pinvert power stations, with a total capacity of 34 MWp, located in the Landes region. The tool enables the monitoring of delivery substations, inverters and trackers, as well as managing the DEIE interface and regulating reactive power.
Vibration analyses at a hydroelectric power station
Vibration analyses were carried out on the 16 hydroelectric power stations in the FHA portfolio located in Guadeloupe. The total capacity of these 16 power stations is 10 MW. These vibration analyses made it possible to assess the mechanical condition of all the drive trains.
Development of a SCADA system for a prototype floating wind turbine
France Atlantique is an innovative floating wind turbine project based on Eolink technology, with a design optimised for high-power turbines.
VALEMO plays a key role in providing advice and support throughout the implementation of the project as a whole, and in particular on matters relating to the maintainability of the wind turbine and its float.
Our teams are focusing in particular on adapting the turbine by sourcing the main nacelle components. At the same time, our engineering team is working on developing the SCADA system.
VALEMO is also organising the reassembly of the nacelle and drawing up the full range of maintenance procedures in preparation for the forthcoming Operation and Maintenance phase, which will take place at the SEM-REV test site off the coast of Le Croisic.
