VALEMO develops a specific tool for remote monitoring of offshore assets

Entirely developed by VALEMO’s engineering teams, with the support of the IT teams, this tailor-made web service optimises the remote monitoring of autonomous units deployed at sea and improves the supervision of the availability of measurement data and controls related to the safety of the installations. This innovative IT tool is specifically adapted to the monitoring and analysis objectives of the units concerned.

In line with the innovations developed since 2011 to optimise the remote monitoring tools for the renewable energy equipment it operates and controls, VALEMO has this year introduced a new hypervisor for offshore assets requiring special vigilance. Entirely developed in-house to meet AKROCEAN’s specific needs and to optimise VALEMO’s remote monitoring and first-level analysis service in the event of an alert, this tool is already being used on a daily basis to monitor offshore installations.

Hélène Laumière, design engineer: “This hypervisor allows optimal performance analysis via an ergonomic design studied in close collaboration with VALEMO’s operational teams to best meet their needs in terms of visualisation and reporting.
Designed to adapt to all the technical definitions of the installations to be monitored (underwater probes, lidars, ornithological radars, wave gauges, environmental sensors, etc.) and to the diversity of parameters to be monitored, the hypervisor offers flexibility and ergonomics thanks to the aggregation of all the data processed on a single interface.

Frédéric PREVOST, Director of VALEMO: “This innovation is part of the development of VALEMO’s Engineering Department, whose activity has also been oriented towards offshore wind projects and floating projects for several years. It also illustrates our ability to respond to our clients’ operation and maintenance issues; the support provided to AKROCEAN enables us to optimise our supervision and maintenance services at sea, both in France and internationally.
VALEMO is thus continuing its drive to develop customised tools that can be adapted and adjusted to different types of installation. This hypervisor completes the resources implemented by the Control Centre housed in the new premises of VALEMO’s headquarters in Bègles.
