VALEMO strengthens its offshore expertise with the supervision the Yeu-Noirmoutier offshore wind farm

[ PRESS RELEASE ]

Bègles, July 15, 2025

VALEMO, a specialist in the operation and maintenance of renewable energy, announces the signing of a contract with EMYN (Eoliennes en mer des Îles d’Yeu et de Noirmoutier), a subsidiary of Ocean Winds (the offshore wind joint venture created by ENGIE and EDPR), in which Sumitomo Corporation, La Banque des Territoires and Vendée Energie.

This contract covers the remote supervision, 24/7, of all the installations of the future Yeu-Noirmoutier offshore wind farm: electrical substation (OSS), wind turbines and BOP (Balance of Plant). VALEMO’s teams will operate from their bascontrol center ed in Bègles (33), managing alerts, processing them, communicating with the network operator RTE, and transmitting regulatory data (REMIT) and production forecasts.

« The technical requirements of EMYN (Eoliennes en Mer des Îles d’Yeu et de Noirmoutier) led us to consolidate the organization of our Control Center, continuing the adjustments we have been preparing for over several years. It is a real satisfaction to be involved in the operation of this offshore wind farm and to provide remote supervision.” Aurélie Klein, O&M Project Manager.

“While awaiting the completion of our Yeu-Noirmoutier and Dieppe-Le Tréport offshore wind farms and their control center in Dieppe, we have chosen to call on the services of a French mid-sized company, VALEMO, which has the expertise we require in this field, in order to meet our remote supervision needs.” Perrine LE GAOUYAT, Deputy Director of Operations and Maintenance for EMYN.

Continuity of expertise in OSS

VALEMO is thus consolidating its position as a trusted player in offshore supervision. The company has already supported Chantiers de l’Atlantique in monitoring the Yeu-Noirmoutier substation since its installation at sea. This new assignment is a continuation of previous collaborations involving the OSS in St-Nazaire, Fécamp and Courseulles, also supplied by Chantiers de l’Atlantique on behalf of EDF Renouvelables.

“This contract confirms the recognition of our teams’ expertise in the management of complex offshore assets. It also demonstrates the renewed confidence of our industrial and energy partners. We are thus expanding our regional footprint, this time in Nouvelle-Aquitaine, while maintaining our ambitions in the Pays de la Loire region in the maintenance business,” said Matthieu Blandin, Director of Offshore Strategy at VALEMO.

With this new assignment, VALEMO is strengthening its position as a key player in the offshore wind energy sector by combining reliability, responsiveness, and regional roots.
