The new hybrid power plant in Limoux (PV and storage) was an opportunity for VALEMO’s Technical Engineering department to develop a specific supervision interface that takes into account the specificities associated with the simultaneous management of two production units on a single site.
The plant includes :
- A PV production unit with a capacity of 1350kW peak, comprising 6 GOODWE HT 250 inverters operating at a maximum unit power of 225kW;
- A storage unit supplied by OMEXOM, consisting of 7 battery racks with a total capacity of 2,300 kWh, enabling a reversible inverter/charger to supply or absorb a maximum power of 1,250 kW continuously for just under 2 hours.
This new development is based on our existing tool, which already integrates wind, photovoltaic and hydroelectric power. This means we can use a single tool to supervise a diversified energy portfolio.
Finally, this SCADA system will enable supervision and intelligent interfacing between the various players in the power plant:
- Interface with the OMEXOM PLC for supervision of the storage unit and all its sub-assemblies;
- Interface with the GOODWE PV logger (EzLogger) for supervision and control of the PV plant’s inverters;
- Interface with the aggregator (Energy-Pool) for controlling PV production according to the various possible electricity sales scenarios (sale at the SPOT market price, frequency regulation or capacity mechanism);
- Interface with the DEIE ENEDIS for monitoring/control of the power plant by the DSO in the event of a need to limit the power produced or a need to shut down;
- Management of reactive power in Q = f(U): injection or withdrawal of reactive energy is automatically adjusted according to the voltage of the HTA electrical network;
- Recording of data from the two units and sending of alarms to optimise plant operation and maintenance.
This new project has enabled us to confirm the adaptability of our tool by integrating new technologies, new processes and new communication protocols.
