SCADA SOLUTION : Manage wind farm production and condition remotely.

Since 2010, VALEMO has been developing wind power remote management tools to meet the supervision needs of the installations.

The strong development of solar energy in the 2010 decade has led us, with our experience in wind power supervision tools, to develop a SCADA dedicated to photovoltaic installations in order to meet the needs corresponding to the operation.

This tool allows the management teams to carry out a fine and real time monitoring of the status of the parks. The sending of alarms by SMS and e-mail as soon as the PDL (Delivery Station) is under voltage allows an increased reactivity of the controllers to reduce the downtime.

SCADA is very useful for maintenance teams to identify malfunctions (trackers, inverters, PDL) when preparing corrective missions. But also during on-site interventions since the interface is accessible locally and via the smartphone, PC and tablet application. This allows technicians to have a live view of the influence of actions carried out on equipment.

The historical data uploaded to the operator’s database allows him to perform advanced data analysis, to qualify the different stops and to identify underperformance at different levels. This data also allows asset managers to monitor the performance of their portfolio in real time.

In addition, the system allows the interface with the balance responsible by sending environmental and production data in real time as well as giving access to a command to stop and start the plant.

The VALEMO PV SCADA is installed on 15 sites representing a total power of 105MWp with installations equipped with trackers (STI Nordland and AMPEX), central inverters (SMA and POWER ELECTRONICS) and string inverters (HUAWEI and SUNGROW).

The reactive power regulation (tan phi and Q=f(u)) imposed by the grid operator is performed by our tool at the point of delivery according to the regulations.

The functionalities of our tool can be summarized as follows

– PDL supervision + remote control.

– DEIE interface.

– Recovery of meter data (TIC signal).

– Sending of alarms in real time by e-mail and SMS.

– Command by SMS.

– PDL supervision + remote control.

– Interface with the aggregator (supervision + remote control).

– Inverter supervision + remote control.

– Supervision of trackers + remote control.

– Supervision of environmental sensor data.

– Database of inverters, trackers, environmental sensors and general information.

– Reactive power regulation: tan phi and Q=f(U).

With a wealth of experience in the various aspects of operating a photovoltaic park, VALEMO takes advantage of the various needs that are raised internally and the feedback from using this tool.
